Smack in the midst of unquestionably touristy Fisherman's Wharf, The Dirty Martini delivers drinks and Top-40 dance tunes to a mostly out-of-towner crowd. Watch out for the beefy bouncers -- the no-sneaker policy is strictly enforced at the door, even though the vibe inside is far from classy. Expect a fair share of dance-floor bump-and-grind and decor that includes big-screen TVs playing music videos. If you do get doorman approval, you'll probably still have to fork over a cover -- usually around $5. Join the soused-up, rowdy crowd that packs the place on weekends, when DJs or cover bands usually play from 9:30PM until close. Whatever you do, steer clear of the place's namesake drink: the house martini tastes watered down, and is made with vodka, not gin. |
